funeral for baby found dead in oven

An emotional day for the family and loved ones of a 20-month-old baby who was found dead in an oven last month in Mississippi.

Royalty Marie Floyd was found lifeless stabbed and burned in an oven. Her grandmother was charged with her murder.

The father of the child still does not understand what happened. “I find it difficult to say what happened. It’s still something I do not understand,” said Floyd.

The suspect, Carolyn Jones, 48, faces a charge of first degree murder. She was alone at home when the police arrived and made the gruesome discovery.

Royalty’s mother had launched a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for the funeral expenses.

She said her mother had never been violent. “She loved Royalty and treated her as if she were royalty,” she said.
